Ramona P., resident of Matagorda House came to the facility in September 2018 after her family ran out of options to keep her safe at home. On this day, her family reluctantly admitted her to the facility with regretful, drawn faces. Ramona was fearful and reserved, asking when her daughter was coming to pick her up. When staff attempted to talk to Ramona, she clutched her purse and did not say much. Today, Ramona is thriving and sociable with “her friends” and enjoys spending time with other residents. Ramona’s family is at peace with her placement and come in with smiles and leave happy. Staff at Matagorda House are happy to see Ramona thriving and progressing!
